Bristol Vellum 300 series.  This is an acid free heavy

weight, vellum surface paper.  A graphite pencil is

able to be sharpen to a fine point to depict a

tremendous level of detail for a pet portrait, horse

portrait, or portrait of a person.  The pet portrait

pencil drawing is coat over with Fixative Spray. A

variety of graphite pencils are used to create a vivid

image of a pet or horse in artistic light and dark

values giving depth and dimension to a portrait. 

Pencil portraits are done in tonal shades of black and

white.  Framed and matted pencil/portrait sketches
